At CommScope, we push the boundaries of communications technology to create the world’s most advanced networks.

CommScope inspires millions of visitors to explore nature and science

It's a museum ... from the inside out; a building pulsing with the life of a human body on display, sharing many of the complex systems that help keep it "alive". That's exactly what museum supporters envisioned when they approached CommScope to help them create the ideal wired and wireless network infrastructure. The building itself is an exhibit—a living, breathing science lesson that seamlessly blends technology with sustainability.

Supported by a single network infrastructure offering high-speed 40G connectivity for wired connectivity, the museum is connected by 200,000 feet of SYSTIMAX® Cat. 6 cable and 5,000 feet of singlemode and multimode fiber. A custom distributed antenna system (DAS) provides reliable in-building wireless coverage and capacity. The network:
• Manages everything from touch screens to interactive exhibits to the box office, including VLAN and VWAN capabilities
• Supports VoIP and provides high-definition video surveillance and security
• Tracks every drop of water, every kilowatt of energy, and every BTU of gas the building consumes, displaying the information at visitor kiosks located throughout the museum

This signature CommScope project offers a "one-of-a-kind" adventure through interactive technology and sustainability meant to captivate and inspire millions of children and adults to explore nature and science in creative new ways—for decades to come!
